Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists residents with daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support and other personal care.
- Provides assistance with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
- Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for the resident.
- Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed.
- Documents resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
Compensation and Benefits:
$17.00 - $25.50/hour salary range. Additional benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, work/life balance benefits, and a generous time off package.
