Job Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) serves as a caregiver to residents during their scheduled work period in long-term care. Under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN), the CNA provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining/recording vital signs
- Offers psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents
- Assists residents with meals and snacks, provides water and supplements as needed
- Documents interactions with residents, including outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary
Requirements:
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- Minimum age of 16
- Prior experience in clinical or nursing assistant roles in long-term care is preferred
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing
