Job Summary:
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long-term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and other daily living activities.
- Obtain and record vital signs, provide psychosocial support, and assist with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct techniques and equipment.
- Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and supplements as needed.
- Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if necessary.
- Document resident interactions, outcomes, and care-related concerns or responses.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or GED preferred.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is a plus.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or obtaining certification through Endorsement.
