Senior Nursing Assistant (NA) Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Nursing Assistant to join our team at GSS ND Mandan Sunset. As a member of our nursing team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents.
Job Summary:
- Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
- Assists with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
- Assists with transferring, repositioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
- Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience for residents.
Responsibilities:
- Aids providers and nursing staff members with procedures as needed.
- Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicates resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
- Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
- Assists with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Two years' clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing.
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year.
