We are excited to offer a brand new Inpatient / Outpatient Therapy Space in Waukon, with a recent remodel completed in West Union. Here, you will gain valuable experience in post-acute, long-term care, and outpatient settings.
Job Summary
The Occupational Therapist will assess clients, develop and implement occupational therapy treatments, and assist clients in developing, maintaining, and recovering their abilities to perform essential tasks in their daily lives. You will conduct evaluations for clients with functional, cognitive, and behavioral impairments, establishing tailored therapeutic plans and adjusting them as needed. This role also includes educating clients to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes.
Key Responsibilities :
- Evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental, and psychosocial abilities.
- Design and implement effective occupational therapy programs.
- Document evaluations and treatment plans in accordance with departmental guidelines.
- Provide education and training to clients, families, and peers.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including providers, case managers, and family members.
- Supervise assistants, aides, and students providing patient care.
- Participate in department and organizational activities to promote services.

Qualifications
Candidates must possess the appropriate education in accordance with state licensure requirements and be a licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of practice. New graduates awaiting board certification may also apply if they hold a temporary license. Certification through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred for those working at a Sanford Health Facility. A valid driver's license may be necessary. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 60 days of employment.
