Role Description:
The Nursing Assistant serves as a member of the nursing team, responsible for providing resident-centered care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). This role requires knowledge of age-appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs, as outlined in the care plan.
Responsibilities:
- Provide basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining vital signs.
- Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as needed.
- Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures when necessary.
- Determine resident interactions and document outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
- Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
Requirements:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position.
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
