Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant Trainee develops confidence and competence to serve as a caregiver providing personal care to clients. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, the trainee works alongside a preceptor to deliver holistic client-centered care promoting independence and client rights in a safe, caring, and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care to clients, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, undressing, and obtaining vital signs.
- Deliver age-appropriate care meeting physical, psychological, and restorative needs defined in the care plan.
- Communicate changes in client condition and care-related concerns to a licensed nurse.
- Assist clients with meals and snacks, provide water and nutritional supplements as needed, and assist with housekeeping and laundry services.
Qualifications
High school graduate or general equivalency diploma preferred but not required. Minimum age 16. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
