Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. The successful candidate will provide professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents through timely assessments, medication administration, and treatment plans.
- Contribute to the assessment process and administer medications as ordered by healthcare professionals.
- Provide technical support to healthcare teams as needed.
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs.
- Counsel residents, family members, and/or advocates on prevention and treatment plans, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.
- Develop self-care programs based on knowledge of resident education principles.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- A graduate from an accredited practical nursing program with an active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- An Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
- If IV therapy/management skills are required, graduation from a Board-approved AASPN program with IV therapy as part of the curriculum or completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing is necessary.
- A minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility or equivalent clinical experience across the lifespan is required.
- Must hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with the State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
- Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.
- Complete annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements.
