The salary range for this position is $17.00 - 25.50 per hour, with the possibility of qualifying for a sign-on bonus of $5000.
Job Description
As a Nursing Assistant (NA), you will serve as a caregiver to residents during your scheduled work period in long-term care facilities. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN).
- Delivering age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of residents as per their care plans.
- Assisting residents with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, obtaining and recording vital signs, and providing psychosocial support.
- Transferring, repositioning, and walking residents using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment, and providing range of motion and passive exercises.
- Completing tasks related to food preparation and dining, while creating a positive dining experience for residents.
- Communicating residents' changing conditions and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- A high school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred but not required.
- A minimum age of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care, preferably with certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Active CNA certification with the State Board of Nursing or state certification within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
- Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits annually.
