Job Overview
The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team as a Travel LPN. This opportunity allows an LPN to travel locally by working in various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius from their home address, providing care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement.
This role involves demonstrating knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting, demonstrating competency and practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, utilizing appropriate age and population-specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per the care plan.
The successful candidate will ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents, contribute to the assessment of residents, administer medications or treatments as ordered, provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed, document resident interactions as needed, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality patient care to residents in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Execute medications, treatments, and other interventions as prescribed by physicians
• Create and implement customized care plans tailored to the unique needs of each resident
• Partner with cross-functional teams to coordinate care and foster positive outcomes
• Educate residents, families, and staff on disease management, medication usage, and other health-related matters
• Maintain precise and timely documentation of resident care and services delivered
Qualifications
• Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Active LPN licensure with the State Nursing Board and/or multi-state licensure privileges
• At least 3 months of prior experience in Long Term Care, preferably 6 months
• Ability to collaborate effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
