Job Summary:
The LPN provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care settings, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. The role involves demonstrating knowledge of nursing principles, competency in performing testing, and ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions. The LPN must also ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents, contribute to their assessment, administer medications or treatments as ordered, and provide technical support to healthcare professionals. Additionally, the LPN will document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Responsibilities:
Provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care settings
Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles and competencies
Performs testing to evaluate data reflective of resident status and provides necessary care
Recognizes problems, recommends solutions, and responds effectively in emergent situations
Ensures the health, comfort, and safety of residents
Contributes to resident assessments and administers medications or treatments as ordered
Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed
Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary needs
Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred
Must have attended a pre-licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility
Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
