Job Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long term care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. They must demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles and provide care tailored to each resident's specific needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
- Administer medications or treatments as ordered and document resident interactions and outcomes.
- Counsel residents, family members, and/or advocates on prevention and treatment plans.
- Work effectively with healthcare professionals and the public to deliver high-quality care.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
- Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements.
