Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant Trainee to join our team at GSS SD Miller Prairie Ctr. This is a full-time opportunity that offers a sign on bonus with certification.
This role is designed for individuals who want to develop their skills and confidence in providing personal care to clients. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will work alongside a preceptor to provide holistic client-centered care that promotes independence and client rights.
The program includes an online curriculum and hands-on skills development, where you will learn the skills and processes needed to provide care and assistance to clients. At completion of the training program, you will be prepared to take state knowledge and skills exams to obtain the Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) or other state certification designation.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with basic health care needs and activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, undressing, obtaining vital signs, providing psychosocial support, and delivering other personal care as assigned.
- Communicate changes in client condition and care-related concerns to a licensed nurse.
- Document client care when appropriate.
- Participate in infection prevention and control, personal protective equipment use, safety, and privacy initiatives.
Requirements
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
