Job Overview
We are seeking a Nursing Assistant Trainee to join our team. This role is part of our training program, which develops the confidence and competence to serve as a caregiver providing personal care to clients.
Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, provide holistic client-centered care that promotes independence and client rights in a safe, caring, and efficient manner.
- Work within the role of a non-certified nursing assistant and assist clients with basic health care needs and activities of daily living such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, undressing, obtaining vital signs, providing psychosocial support, and delivering other personal care as assigned.
- Assist the care team and document client care when appropriate.
- Communicate changes in client condition and care-related concerns to a licensed nurse.
- Deliver age-appropriate care to meet the physical, psychological, and restorative needs of the client as defined in the care plan.
Requirements
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred but not required.
- Minimum age of 16.
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
- Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license.
