Job Summary
The RN is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care to residents. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation. The RN will collaborate with residents and family members, as well as other interdisciplinary colleagues, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to residents, including administration of medications, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
- Assess resident needs and develop strategies to promote health, prevent illness, and address any concerns or issues.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss resident progress, goals, and any challenges or concerns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of resident care, including medication administration, treatment plans, and progress notes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) or higher preferred.
- Current RN licensure in the state where the practice of nursing is occurring.
- Experience working in long-term care or gerontology preferred.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced environment.
