Nursing Support Staff Wanted: The Good Samaritan Society is seeking qualified individuals to join our team as Medication Assistants (MAs). As a MA, you will play a critical role in providing resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse.
About the Position: The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities, administering medications, and documenting resident care information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists residents with daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
- Prepares and serves meals and snacks to residents, ensuring they receive adequate nutrition and hydration.
- Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within their scope of practice as defined by state regulations.
- Documents resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary information.
Requirements: High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. Minimum age of 18 preferred. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
