Job Summary
An Occupational Therapist assesses clients' needs and designs treatments to help them develop, maintain, and recover their ability to perform daily tasks. The therapist evaluates physical, cognitive, and behavioral abilities, develops therapy goals, and administers occupational therapy programs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and provide interventions for clients with functional, cognitive, or behavioral impairments
- Develop and implement realistic therapy plans
- Document client information and modify therapy plans as needed
- Provide education to enhance understanding and improve functional outcomes
- Stay up-to-date with current research and incorporate it into daily treatment
Qualifications
- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
- Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as an Occupational Therapist
- May require valid driver's license and certification through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
