The Good Samaritan Society offers a comprehensive training program for Nursing Assistant Trainees. As a member of our team, you will learn the skills and processes needed to provide care and assistance to clients in a safe, caring, and efficient manner.
Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will work closely with a preceptor to develop the confidence and competence to serve as a caregiver. You will assist with basic health care needs, activities of daily living, and provide psychosocial support to clients.
You will also be responsible for maintaining client records and communicating changes in client condition and care-related concerns to a licensed nurse. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to prioritize responsibilities, and demonstrate critical thinking abilities.
This role requires an ability to do detailed work correctly, handle stress, and follow written and verbal instructions. You will work in a fast-paced environment and be expected to adapt to changing situations.
Upon completion of the training program, participants will be prepared to take state knowledge and skills exams to obtain the Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) or other state certification designation.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic health care needs, such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, undressing, obtaining vital signs, providing psychosocial support, and delivering other personal care as assigned.
- Document client care when appropriate and communicate changes in client condition and care-related concerns to a licensed nurse.
- Maintain client records and assist with housekeeping, laundry services, and other duties as assigned within non-certified nursing assistant role.
