Responsibilities:
- Assist patients/residents/clients with therapy activities and exercises under the supervision of a physical therapist.
- Provide, monitor, and record therapy services for patients/residents/clients with physical, cognitive, and developmental impairments.
- Select, implement, and modify therapeutic activities and interventions consistent with competency levels, patient goals, and practice setting requirements.
- Contribute to the process by exchanging information with and providing documentation to the physical therapist about patient responses and communications during intervention.
- Be knowledgeable about patient targeted physical therapy outcomes and provide information and documentation related to outcome achievement.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) program as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Conform to the supervision and licensing standards of the state(s) where services are provided.
