Good Shepherd is seeking a Physician to perform emergency medicine duties in a level III trauma emergency department of a growing midsize community health care system.

Responsibilities
Variable Shifts
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Serves as Physician in the Emergency Department providing care to all patients presenting to the ED as well as guidance and education to the entire ED staff. Treat patients who have life-threatening conditions. The primary job functions are to resuscitate and stabilize patients and transition care to an appropriate endpoint whether that be the ICU, general inpatient bed, another provider, another hospital, or home.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Using this rule, the physician must determine if a patient’s symptoms may be caused by a serious medical condition.
- Collecting medical histories
- Thoroughly examining patients
- Drawing conclusions and order tests
- Deciding on appropriate courses of treatment
- Emergency resuscitation
- Taking whatever steps are necessary to stabilize the patient for transport to another area of the hospital or transport to another hospital.
- Effectively treating less serious injuries, such as broken bones or lacerations.
- Determining if patients need to be admitted to the hospital for further evaluation.
- Discharging some patients with instructions for self-treatment and follow-up with their personal care physician for additional evaluation on an outpatient basis.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Board Certified/Board Eligible Medical Doctor (Emergency Medicine)
- Unrestricted Oregon License (or able to obtain)
- Oregon DEA Licensure (or able to obtain)
- ACLS, BLS, ATLS
- Trauma trained
36 Hours USD $320.00/Hr. USD $325.00/Hr. 01-3231 Emergency Center Prof Fees Varied Shifts
