Overview :

Assists in the management of the daily operations of accounting, accounts payable, billing, cash control, and financial reporting for Good Shepherd Health Care System, Community Health Foundation and the Medical Center. Assists the Controller in the completion of the corporate tax returns for Good Shepherd Health Care System and all subsidiaries. Provides all necessary audit schedules to Controller required for any audits conducted by Internal Auditors or Cost Report consultants.
Responsibilities :
- Ensures that physician billings are completed monthly for all leases, loans, and for clerical services provided by Good Shepherd Health Care System.
- Completes monthly financial statement for the Medical Service Corporation, the Community Health Foundation and the Medical Center in a timely manner and free of material errors allowing for adequate administrative review.
- Provides policy and procedures for all job responsibilities and duties.
- Coordinates the timely closing of financial applications for producing monthly financial statements to include the Good Shepherd Medical Group, Retail Pharmacy, and the Rental Operations.
- Completes all Federal and State quarterly payroll tax returns.
- Assists in the completion of all Federal and State annual tax returns.
- Demonstrates good understanding of internal control and auditing procedures thru the preparation of general ledger account reconciliations and audit schedules.
- Assists Controller in completion of Good Shepherd Health Care System financial statements and acts as his backup during his absence.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Qualifications : Education
Bachelors degree in business administration with specialization in Accounting or Auditing.
Experience
2-3 years experience preferred as Staff Accountant or Auditor.

Must be able to work under stress as multiple deadlines occur simultaneously. Must focus on listening as ideas are expressed and exchanged in varying noise levels. May work over 8 hours and occasionally a weekend to meet goals and objectives. Must sit during extended periods of time daily. Must push or lift boxes on occasion.
