What are the responsibilities and job description for the Personal Care Assistant (PCA) position at GOOD SHEPHERD HOME?
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care assistance to individuals in their homes or assisted living facilities
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and cleaning
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Document and report any changes in client's condition to the appropriate supervisor
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and resident rights is a plus
- Familiarity with home care or assisted living environments is beneficial
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
