I. Position Guide and Job Description - Kids Korner Shift Supervisor
II. Organizational Position
The Kids Korner Shift Supervisor directly reports to the Children’s Programs Director and is responsible to the Church Council and Congregational Pastor.
III. General Scope of Position
The Kids Korner Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership with the help of the Leadership Team and staff. The Shift Supervisor will assist the Director with setting goals, planning activities, and building an equipped team to serve in the program. This position will be hourly and work no more than 30 hours per week Monday-Friday. Weekend hours may also be required depending on programs and events.
IV. Specific Responsibilities
A. Leadership Responsibilities
- Assist the Director with all aspects of the Kids Korner program.
- Develop a daily schedule.
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff when the director is not present.
- Oversee the opening and or closing of the facility daily.
- Welcome and orient new children and families to the program.
- Promote the program within the community.
- Maintain certification in CPR, First Aid, and all other state mandated training.
- Be familiar with and implement the Pennsylvania guidelines for childcare centers to maintain the state license.
- Supervise children’s activities including homework, games, and crafts
B. Administrative Responsibilities when director is not present
- Collect unpaid balances from parents.
- Maintain children’s files and emergency contact information
- Maintaining employee hours for payroll.
C. Additional Responsibilities
- Maintain facilities such as cleaning and organizing play areas.
- Register new children in the program
D. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director or Church Council.
V. Required Qualifications and Experience
A. Preferred Qualifications
- Possess organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Be active in the Christian faith and have high moral integrity.
- Willingness to be church leaders and members.

- Moderate computer skills (MS Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Dependable, accountable and able to work independently
