Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network. As a Patient Services Representative, you will play a critical role in enhancing clinicians' effectiveness by providing information management support. This includes answering and triaging phone calls, scheduling patients' visits, verifying and securing initial and ongoing insurance coverage for therapy services, and providing patients with relevant information concerning their insurance coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Office Skills: You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills, effectively and efficiently schedule patients' initial and follow-up visits, greet patients and visitors, register patients, and assist with answering and triaging referral telephone calls.
- Insurance Management: You will collect and verify insurance information for new and existing patients, communicate benefits and potential financial responsibility to patients, collect patient copays, and follow up with patients who have out-of-pocket costs.
- Authorization and Referrals: You will obtain authorization for necessary services from insurers, perform accurate and timely maintenance of authorization functions, referrals, and visit limit tracking in Cerner, and answer patient calls regarding authorization questions.
- Documentation and Team Effort: You will accurately utilize the patient EMR system, accurately copy records when requested, and accurately track the need for insurance reauthorizations for patients. You will also identify work unit issues, implement solutions, orient new staff, demonstrate flexibility to help others, share knowledge with others, and promote a positive work environment.

- Education: High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
- Work Experience: 1-2 years of experience in an administrative position with computer skills required; prior health insurance experience preferred.
