What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Physiatrist position at Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network?
Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital is looking for a BC/BE Pediatric Rehabilitation Physician (double boarded or fellowship trained), to join their Pediatric Rehabilitation Hospital and growing Pediatric Rehabilitation Program in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania.
This physician would join a dynamic and growing Pediatric Rehabilitation Program with a CARF Accredited Inpatient Pediatric Unit with nationally recognized specialty programs treating infants through late adolescents. The Pediatric Rehabilitation Physician will be encouraged to pursue their areas of interest to further grow the Pediatric Rehabilitation presence and programs in the Lehigh Valley in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Good Shepherd prides themselves on being on the cutting edge of technology and innovation for our pediatric patients, including trailblazing in robotic gait training technology, NICU and respiratory rehabilitation, and feeding rehabilitation programs, along with successful brain injury and neurorehabilitation programs.
There are multiple opportunities to do acute care consultations and multidisciplinary collaboration with local large acute care hospital systems with Trauma, NICU and PICU programs. There will also be opportunities to work with Pediatric and PM&R residents from 4 large health systems. Good Shepherd also enthusiastically supports innovation and research, providing interested physicians opportunities to pursue academic pursuits as well.

JOB SUMMARY
Provides state-of-the art physiatric care for Good Shepherd patients and supports the Good Shepherd Mission. Provides services in a 20 bed inpatient pediatric unit and outpatient satellites and consultation services at acute care hospitals in the greater Lehigh Valley area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Contribute to the financial health of the group
- By covering direct expenses.
- Provides medical leadership
- To be completed for Program Medical Directors only.
- Performs requested evaluations and follow-up visits
- For rehabilitation patients.
- Provides coverage
- For physiatrist consultations when needed.
- Performs EMGs as needed
- For physiatrist inpatient, outpatient and consulting services as needed.
- Attends CME's
- To support clinical activities regularly.
- Provides educational supervision
- To any assigned residents or medical students.
- Performs duties
- That may incur contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.
- Demonstrates the skills
- In understanding the range of treatment and knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the age of the patients’ services.
- Implements and creates a quality vision
- To improve the organization and all of those served.
- Participates in the Good Shepherd on call schedule
- For coverage of inpatients/outpatients.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
- Residency training and clinical experience in diagnosis, medical and rehabilitation management of patients with impairments related to neurologic, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary and other general disorders required
Work Experience
- Previous experience in diagnosis of medical and rehabilitation management of patients required
Licenses / Certifications
- Board Certified/Board Qualified Physiatrist required
- Pennsylvania State Medical License required
