Good Shepherd School is a Catholic Preschool located in Charlestown, a neighborhood of Boston, and serves children in our community from 20 months - 4 years old. www.gsscharlestown.org.
We are seeking a fun and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our organization! Candidates should be excited about working with children, willing to be a part of a team, and looking to grow in the field of early childhood education personally and professionally.
Classroom Teacher: Monday-Friday: 7:30am until 3:15pm. This includes an hour of planning outside of your classroom with your co-teacher each week, 30 minutes of set up before the children arrive at 8am each morning, and an ample budget for classroom supplies.
*We are also open to a 30-hour schedule of Monday-Friday 7:30am-1:30pm , and Fridays could also be negotiable with either schedule.
We run on a school year calendar, September - June, but also have a part time summer program (M-Th 8-3) which you can work if desired (not required). We also offer other opportunities for additional compensation such as during February and April break, after school hours, and babysitting nights.
All of our classrooms have low ratios, 3:9 in Toddlers, 2:12 in Young Preschool, and 2:14 in Preschool. We also have floating teachers available for extra support and coverage for teacher absences. We offer 10 paid personal/sick days, with no blackout dates.
EEC Certification is required for this Classroom Teacher position.
$500 signing bonus after hiring and completion of orientation, additional $500 paid out after 6 months of positive performance.

Responsibilities:
- Instruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
- Create a fun and safe learning environment
- Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
- Passionate about working with children
- Ability to build rapport with children and families
- Positive and patient demeanor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- EEC Certification is required
Salary : $32,000 - $45,000
