Position: Cook
32 hours per 2 week pay period 10:30pm-7:00 includes every other weekend - $21.00/hour starting wage
Delegation of Authority: As a Cook, you are delegated the authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties.
Purpose of Job Position: The primary purpose of your job position is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures and as maybe directed by the Assistant Food Service Supervisor and/or Director of Food Services, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Inspect special diets and plates to assure they are correct.
2. Assure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
3. Perform administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, HACCP TEMPS, cleaning lists etc.
and submit to the Director of Food Services.
4. Assist in establishing food service production line, etc. to assure that meals are prepared on time.
5. Process diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services.
6. Assume responsibility for opening and closing department following appropriate policies and procedures.
7. Bring out buffet at required times/lines.
8. Serve on the Buffet line as needed.
9. Keep perpetual inventory freezer sheet up to date.
10. Supervise dietary serving staff in dining rooms and kitchen.
11. Rotate stock and update food service directors on large amounts of food getting close to being outdated, so menu/order can be adjusted/product changes, or food supply company informed.
PERSONNEL FUNCTIONS
1. Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel, as well as with other departments within the facility to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
2. Create and maintain an atmosphere of respect, personal interest and positive emphasis.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT
1. Participate in and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned or that may become necessary.
2. Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., as directed.
DIETARY SERVICES
1. Cleans/rinses/sanitizes work space/equipment throughout meal prep while following menus.
2. Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
SAFETY AND SANITATION
1. Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as our established policies and procedures.
2. Assure that safety regulations are followed at all times by all personnel.
Every other weekend and holiday
