Overview :
The Tutor will work with the M.S. 447 Program of Good Shepherd Services to assist program participants with Math and or ELA assignments and other academic enrichment activities.
Reports to : Program Director M.S. 447
Location : 125 East 181st Street, Bronx, New York 10453
Hours : Up To 8 Hours / Week, Non-Exempt (School Year Sept.- June)
Major Duties :
- Tutors will instruct students in small group settings to supplement and enhance traditional in-class Math / ELA instruction.
- Tutors will prepare lesson plans in accordance with a prepared program curriculum as dictated by the individual needs of each student.
- Tutors will work daily with two or three groups of up to six students each.
- Tutors will coordinate with the campus-level site coordinator, classroom teachers, school administration, and parents to maximize student achievement.
- Tutors may have additional opportunities to share special interests or talents and work with students in enrichment areas in addition to small group reading instruction.
