What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Assistant/Technician position at Good Shepherd Veterinary Hospital?
Now hiring for a Full - or Part-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) or an experienced Veterinary Assistant. Hospital hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, and Saturdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Providing exceptional patient care and customer service
- Obtaining patient history and vitals
- Performing fecal flotations, cytology, and other diagnostic tests
- Performing radiographs
- Venipuncture
- IV catheter placement
- Patient care including maintenance of patient IV fluids, administering medication, and other treatments as required
- Inducing and monitoring anesthesia
- Preparing the Operating Room
- Preparing prescriptions and communicating discharge instructions to clients
- Answering telephone calls on multi-line phone system
- Scheduling appointments and procedures
- Collecting point of service payments
- Cleaning and organizing the hospital
