Job Purpose : Helps Production Supervisor coordinates all activities of direct reports in assigned department to achieve goals and meet and exceed expectations of Production Manager. Assume responsibility for all department functions and performance of assigned employees.
An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation .
Summary of Essential Job Duties :
- Reports to work 15 minutes before the start of production start time to ensure that sufficient product is available for production.
- Operate fork truck (daily safety checks, drive).
- Effectively leads all assigned employees within department to uphold standards while complying with all company policies.
- Responsible for oversight of computers, equipment, and machinery maintenance in area assigned.
- Responsible for total area organization while maintaining a clean workspace.
- Cycle Counts Raw Material.
- Tracks raw material usage : Damaged, waste, shortages.
- Help determine ways to make production more productive.
- Take / recommend disciplinary action when necessary and complete necessary paperwork.
- Maintains the ability to motivate staff to reach goals.
- Proficient in all applicable positions, equipment according to company standards.
- Helps train, evaluate, discipline staff to maintain standards and expectations of Production Supervisor.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all employees to promote a cooperative work environment.
- Help Production Supervisor organize production employees to produce the products scheduled for production, and have a backup plan for the lines if one is down.
- Take responsibility to complete production schedule & goals.
- Organize the start-up and shut down of all lines with the help of line associates.
- Responsible for line set up, start up, break down, and clean up.
- Works on the production line if necessary.
- Enforces Production Guidelines.
- Measures productivity and communicates regularly to staff on status of goals.
- Communicates the production schedule & monitor progress during the day.
- Improves and ensures product quality is always up to company standards.
- Ensure the safety of all production staff in designated area.
- Ability to multi-task effectively, and to prioritize when given multiple tasks to perform.
- Ability to effectively delegate / assign tasks.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Basic understanding of tools related to working on various machines.
