Under the direction of the Sr. Network Systems Administrator, the incumbent is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, or software. This person will support local and remote users as well as install, support, and maintain local and remote computers. The Help Desk Support Technician helps to maintain the productivity of computer users and improve employee satisfaction.

- Serve as the first point of contact for end users seeking technical support via help desk system, phone, and/or email. End user support will be related to Windows based software and hardware, and network access.
- Responsible for the installation and ongoing support for all personal computer hardware, software, operating systems, both Windows and Mac, and related peripherals such as monitors and printers.
- Assist in employee onboarding, including network user setup using Active Directory and assigning appropriate user access rights.
- Perform hardware upgrades, troubleshooting and repair on desktop and laptop equipment.
- Document and track problems and solutions in help desk system to ensure a timely resolution and escalate unresolved issues to next level of support when required.
- Provide first tier support to network users for office applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other productivity software.
- Provide training to users for installed software.
- Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees (local or remote) using standard hardware, images and software.
- Work independently and with other IT personnel to identify and resolve issues.
- Support audiovisual equipment in conference rooms.
- Maintain user and system documentation and procedures for installed products.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
Required:
- Two or more years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong experience troubleshooting remote computers using various connection tools (TeamViewer, RDP, etc.)
- Expertise in Office 365 applications.
- Experience with Lansweeper helpdesk system, and A or MCSE/MCSA certifications or similar are a plus.
- Ability to identify potential system problems and propose ways to resolve.
- An understanding of the specific and global impact of changes to the operating, communications and technical systems and the ability to provide system direction in regard to the requests.
- A desire to continually improve skills and learn new technologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direct supervision.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple help desk requests.
- Ability to lead and/or facilitate technical sessions with users.
