Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, this role will support various accounting duties and ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies. Duties will include various accounting and clerical functions, as well as analysis in support of the daily and monthly reporting process. Essential Functions

- Oversee Avalara sales tax software to ensure accurate collection and remittance of sales tax.
- Manage fixed assets entries to ensure proper capitalization, depreciation, and disposal in accordance with accounting standards.
- Import and review payroll journal entries in NetSuite ERP system.
- Prepare and file annual personal property tax returns.
- Utilize Excel to create pivot tables, custom sorts, and lookups for data analysis and reporting.
- Monitor and analyze accounting records, financial reports, and statements for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile customer accounts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain compliance with company policies.
- Prepare financial data and trends for management.
- Assist in implementing policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
Competencies & Skills
- Accounting & Financial Analysis: Proficiency in accounts receivable functions, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy in financial records.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Effectively communicate with internal teams and external customers to resolve issues.
- Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Assess financial information to make informed decisions and improve processes.
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with accounting software, bookkeeping systems, and Microsoft Excel.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and support to accounts receivable staff.
- Assist in training and development initiatives.
- Monitor performance and ensure adherence to company policies.
Work Environment

- Requires the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional lifting of office materials (up to 15 lbs).

Required Education & Experience
- 2 years of experience in accounting or a related financial role.
- Experience with financial software and reporting tools.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Supervisory or leadership experience.
- Knowledge of NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
