What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Fabricator position at Goodfellow Corporation?
Job Description
- Interpret dimensional drawings to plan fabrication layouts
- Join, fabricate, and assemble metal structures using both MIG and TIG welding techniques as required
- Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions
- Use specialized machinery for industrial welding and oversee machines that perform such work
- Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
- Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks and safety shoes
- Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness

- Remains calm and in control under pressure

- Ability to life and/or move up to 50 lbs. lbs. and weights above 50lbs. occasionally
- Stamina: Fabrication Welders often work long hours conducting repetitive movements

Required education and experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 2 years related welding experience
Preferred education and experience
- Bilingual (Spanish)
