Responsibilities:
The Industrial Equipment Installation Estimator has the following responsibilities and duties:
- Estimate projects during the bidding phase and cost additions after the award of the project.
- Estimate the installation of mechanical equipment in commercial and industrial facilities.
- Site visit to our customers and owner’s site to review scope of work, and site conditions and meet with vendors.
- Obtain material, rental equipment, and crane pricing.
- Able to take off ductwork and piping systems to obtain prices from vendors.
- Solicit subcontractor pricing such as electrical, piping, ductwork, and insulation.
- Prepare quotations for sales and project schedule.
- Review with the Project Manager at a kick-off meeting to review the scope of work.
- Assist the Project Manager with questions during the project if questions occur.
- Assist the Salesman and Project Manager in providing an understanding of scope gaps if questions occur with the estimating portion of the project.
The Industrial Equipment Installation Estimator should have the following skills, education, and experience:
- Have at least 5 years or more of estimating experience with industrial mechanical equipment installation or equivalent experience.
- Understand the material markets used for industrial metals fabrication.
- Possess strong mathematical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Be highly motivated and possess extreme attention to detail.
- Fluent in reading mechanical blueprints.
- Demonstrate an understanding of rigging, welding, and piping.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Be willing to work overtime.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Office software products (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
