We are looking for a Full-Time, Marine Service Advisor to help us in delivering award-winning customer service and creating a unique and memorable experience for our customers. This position will assist the Service Manager in ensuring the success of the Service Department at our Meredith Marina.
Job Summary:
Marine Service Advisors will report to the Service Manager and assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Service department and ensuring our customers receive prompt, courteous and effective service. In this position, you will be part of a team that specializes in the maintenance, repair, and detailing of most makes and models of boats.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Communicate with customers in a professional manner to gather all information necessary to create an accurate estimate.
- Consult and sell services that are applicable to the type of boat and customer’s needs.
- Provide customers with a schedule of work, updates, and any changes that may occur.
- Coordinate with customers on transportation of their boat.
- Finalize and invoice work orders.
- Ensure each customer has a positive service experience.
- Spend quality time building a relationship with the customer.
- Follow up after work is complete.
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of Marine or Automotive Service Writer experience, preferred
- Strong customer service skills, in-person and over the phone.
- Possesses a high degree of organizational skills.
- Ability to create and execute a plan and to react effectively to unexpected situations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively.
- Thrives in a team environment.
- Strong computer skills.
- Must have superior selling skills and knowledge of how to cross-sell products and services.
- Problem solving skills.
- Marine parts and services knowledge is a must.
- Experience with Lightspeed EVO, preferred.
Education:
- Associate's degree in business or 2 years of customer service management experience.
- Valid Driver’s License, required.
- Boater’s license, a plus.
Salary:
$50,000-$65,000 Base Commission, based on experience.
