Goodin Company is a leader in the Plumbing/HVAC and Piping distribution business, and we are currently seeking a proven outside sales representative to fill an immediate need for our expanding market. Outside Salespeople play a crucial role in driving revenue and growth for our company by reaching out to potential customers, building relationships, and ultimately closing sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Customer Acquisition: Identify and approach potential customers to generate new business relationships.
- Product Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of the products or services being offered and be able to explain their features, benefits, and applications to potential clients.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
- Sales Presentations: Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations and proposals to potential clients, outlining how the product or service can meet their needs.
- Market Research: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitors to make informed sales strategies.
- Sales Strategies: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet and exceed sales targets and goals.
- Customer Support: Provide ongoing support and assistance to clients, addressing their questions, concerns, and needs.

- Sales Skills: Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to close deals and meet sales targets.
- Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey product or service benefits to clients.
- Product Knowledge: A good understanding of the product or service being sold and the ability to explain its features and benefits.
- Customer Service: Dedication to customer service and building long term client relationships.
- Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and manage a busy schedule.
- Problem Solving: A positive approach to identifying and solving client issues or objections.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs.
- Computer Proficiency: Solid basic computer skills for generating quotes, sales orders, and daily communication.
Education and Experience
- High School, College and/or Tech School preferred
- Previous outside sales experience is needed.
- Experience with Order, Quotation software.
- Knowledge of building material distribution preferable in Mechanical Trades.
Physical Demands
- May occasionally lift 25 pounds.
- Regular use of hands, arms, and fingers in order to feel, grasp, type, or reach.
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal and operate a vehicle for extended periods of time.
- Close vision requirements due to computer work.
