Job Title: Patrol Deputy
Job Description: Seeking dedicated individuals to actively patrol assigned areas, enforce laws, respond to emergency calls, investigate crimes, apprehend suspects, and maintain community safety by performing duties such as traffic stops, citizen interactions, crime scene preservation, and court testimony; must possess strong decision-making abilities, excellent communication skills, and a valid Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.".
Key responsibilities may include:
- Active Patrol: Regularly patrol designated areas to deter crime, identify suspicious activity, and maintain visible presence within the community.
- Incident Response: Promptly respond to emergency calls for service including domestic disputes, traffic accidents, disturbances, and criminal complaints.
- Traffic Enforcement: Conduct traffic stops, issue citations for violations, investigate accidents, and direct traffic flow.
- Criminal Investigations: Gather evidence, interview witnesses, document crime scenes, and apprehend suspects in criminal investigations.
- Arrest and Apprehension: Make arrests of individuals suspected of criminal activity, perform proper search procedures, and transport detainees to appropriate facilities.
- Community Engagement: Interact with citizens, build positive relationships, and address community concerns.
- Report Writing: Accurately document all law enforcement activities, including arrests, investigations, and interactions with citizens.
- Court Testimony: Testify in court proceedings regarding investigations and arrests.
Starting Pay: $26.75 an hour. Pay increases to $28.51/hour after certification through the Idaho P.O.S.T. Academy and successful completion of 12 weeks of Field Training. Shifts are 12 hours long and you will work 14 days during a 28 day pay period. Every other weekend is a 3-day weekend.

Job Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Be able to pass the P.O.S.T. physical test (requirements can be found on the Idaho P.O.S.T. website)
- Work rotating weekends, holidays, day shift, swing, or night shift (12-hour shifts)
- Valid Idaho Drivers’ license with clean driving record
- Pass a polygraph
- Must pass background check
