Summary:
Attends the Imaging Department performing reception and clerical duties for all imaging service personnel during course of assigned shift. Assists imaging staff, patients and hospital visitors as required and/or directed by the imaging department.
Essential Functions:

- Prioritizes work and provides prompt, efficient service to staff, patients, and visitors.
- Has appropriate paperwork signed and filed; scans reports and results to the appropriate chart.
- Answers and directs phone calls to the appropriate personnel or department.
- Completes clerical duties by scheduling patients in an electronic and paper schedule.
- Maintains current patients’ charts and/or records.
- Appropriately attends to correspondence, reports, and filing and telephone duties.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with nursing and ancillary staff, patients, and visitors.
- Assists with care and maintenance of imaging equipment and supplies.
- Maintains adequate departmental records, reports, and files as assigned.
- Participates in educational programs, meetings, and in-service training.
- Assists with daily and monthly statistics.
- Assists with daily charge overview.
- Initiates and monitors insurance prior authorizations and pre-determination paperwork prior to scheduling.
- Monitoring and maintaining stock levels of the imaging department.
- Transporting patients around the hospital on stretchers and in wheelchairs as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

- Proficient with filing and maintaining patient charts.

Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education: Minimum of a high school education or GED. Prefer prior experience as a secretary or similar position but will train on-the-job.
Minimum Experience: One or more years of previous experience preferred. Basic computer knowledge required.

Working Environment:
Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking; assists with lifting and moving patients; lifts supplies and equipment; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching. Regularly exposed to the risk of blood-borne diseases/illness; may be exposed to various patient elements.
