What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veteran Affairs Case Coordinator position at Goodman Allen Donnelly?
The Case Manager works with a Lead Case Manager and the Vet Team Administrator to assist attorneys in providing legal services to veterans by following an established series of tasks to ensure that client cases are managed according to plan, on schedule, and that case files are complete and regularly updated. This position is a full-time on-site position and can be done from any of our following office locations: Charlottesville, Norfolk or Richmond, VA
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Lead Case Manager to implement, update, and report on litigation plans
- Maintains proactive, consistent communication with clients and Veterans Affairs (VA) to gather documentation and push cases forward
- Drives accountability by ensuring timely VA responses and completion of critical case actions
- Provides regular updates to clients regarding case progress
- Drafts and rigorously proofreads letters and straightforward pleadings
- Compiles and organizes documents to ensure case files are complete and audit-ready
- Proactively communicates with supervisors about task status, potential roadblocks, and proposed solutions
- Manages a high-volume caseload (100–250 cases) while staying organized and forward-moving
- Uses Case Management Pro (CMP) software to manage and complete daily task workflows
- Executes submissions to the VA using streamlined processes
- Participates in daily team meetings to report on case developments and priorities
- Provides flexible support to the team, including covering for colleagues as needed

Competencies, Skills, and Abilities
· Veterans Benefits Knowledge (Strongly Preferred)
- Direct experience working with veterans benefits, VA systems, or similar government programs is a strong plus

Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Law firm experience and/or Veteran’s Benefits
Salary : $45,000 - $50,000
