What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Investment Analyst position at Goodman Real Estate?

Position Summary:

This position will work with directly with supervisor and other senior leadership staff in identifying and analyzing real estate investment opportunities for acquisition, disposition, and recapitalization.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing financial model projections and evaluating potential investments from preparing opportunity presentations and summarizing initial due diligence and submarket overview.
  • Work with Director of Debt & Transactions and Investment Analyst to track opportunities, and sale comparables in GRE Target Markets.
  • Conduct market and submarket research, including gathering MSA- and submarket-level data on employment, supply pipelines, sales comparable, etc.
  • Detailed research on specific properties, neighborhoods, and submarkets to facilitate property acquisitions and development opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support for real estate transactions, including scheduling, filing, and correspondence.
  • Assist with gathering requested due diligence materials relating to acquiring real estate.
  • Assist with communication to various transaction stakeholders including brokers, clients, partners, lenders, and consultants.
  • Act as conductor between Asset Services and Investment regarding due diligence tasks relating to acquisitions, dispositions, refinances, and/or recapitalizations.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office suite, ESRI, DealPath, Costar, Yardi Matrix
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Collaborative with Asset Services, Development and Management teams
  • Complete ad-hoc research projects as assigned
  • Required to maintain a regular schedule, which may include working outside business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays
  • Ability to travel (10-15%)
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to operate confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information and situations.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace, perform duties while under pressure and stay organized to meet deadlines in a timely manner
  • Communicate with other employees, residents, visitors, and the public in a professional and pleasant manner
  • Comfortable writing and presenting learning material to employees at all levels
  • Proficient in utilizing the internet, word processing, spreadsheet, and database management programs to complete needed reports

Education and/or Experience:

0-2 years relevant work experience in finance, commercial acquisitions, or development


Computer Skills:

Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook,

Microsoft Word, and Windows Operating System


Language Proficiency:

Must be able to speak, read and write in English, in a manner sufficient to carry out

duties


Work Schedule:

  • The work schedule for this job description is Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm, weekends and after hours are at times required to fulfill this role successfully.
  • Required to maintain a regular schedule, which may include working outside business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidays


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time (40 hours per week)
