JOB TITLE: Costume Technician
LOCATION: Goodman Theatre: 170 N. Dearborn Street – Chicago, IL 60601
REPORTING TO: Costume Shop Manager / Head draper
HOURLY RATE: $21 to $23 based on experience

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Goodman Theatre seeks a costume technician to join our costume shop in all phases of costume construction including stitching, dyeing and distressing for our 8-show subscription season, which includes our annual production of Christmas Carol, and our annual New Stages Festival.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Construct or alter costumes as determined by the draper
Dyeing and distressing as assigned
Uphold Goodman Theatre quality and construction standards

Join the shop in the maintenance of shop spaces and supplies
Work collaboratively as a team member and maintain a positive attitude
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
2-3 years professional costume shop experience is desirable
Strong skills at both hand and machine stitching
Basic dyeing and distressing skills and experience
Craft experience desirable
Able to prioritize tasks and be very detail oriented
