Description
Reports to: GTC Production Manager
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide Superior customer relations
- Perform a pre-trip inspection of truck each day prior to leaving the shop
- Check equipment to be sure all is in working order and what is needed for the day is in the truck
- Provide leadership and direction to crew on job site
- Manage crew productivity and safety
- Communicate to customer on the job/notifying the customer when on site and answer any questions
- Perform all tree work in accordance with all ANSI and OSHA standards
- Complete a post-trip inspection and secure all toolboxes, restock supplies as needed
- Complete proper paperwork including work orders and timesheets
- Communicate to Production Manager any vehicle/equipment repairs needed
- Report any lost, stolen or broken equipment to Production Manager
- Comply with company policy and record accidents and incident properly
- Refer potential additional service leads to office staff
Requirements
Arborist II:
- All qualifications of Arborist V-III
- Minimum of 2-year experience.
- Ability to access and climb most trees.
- Perform all levels of pruning services efficiently and at a high-quality standard.
- Ability to remove trees utilizing rigging techniques.
- Firm understanding and can demonstrate of knots and rigging techniques
- Ability to identify most tree(s) and shrubs.
- Ability to operate most equipment in the company fleet.
- Ability to teach safety and equipment operation to trainees.
- Ability to identify basic PHC issues and answer customer questions.
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50/80 pounds regularly/occasionally
- Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
