Summary:
This position supports data-driven decision-making by collecting, analyzing, and presenting business data. This position collaborates with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver insights through reports and dashboards.
Functions:
- Collect, prepare, and analyze data to support business decisions.
- Develop clear reports and dashboards using tools such as Microsoft Fabric.
- Utilize SQL for basic data querying and analysis.
- Support and assist with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Identify data trends and provide insights to stakeholders.
- Document analytical processes and maintain reference materials.
- Participate in training to develop advanced analytical skills.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, or related field. Familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel) preferred. Working knowledge of data warehouse concepts preferred.
- Demonstrated strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills preferred.
- Demonstrated interest and ability in expanding knowledge and skills preferred.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to distill and communicate technical and analytical materials to non-technical/non-analytical audience preferred.
- Previous insurance background or business data analysis background preferred.
- Knowledge of financial, statistical, and mathematical concepts used in business analysis preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage a range of tasks and projects in an environment with changing priorities preferred.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment preferred.
- Ability to understand business and IT issues and communicate priorities preferred.
- Experience in or ability to learn Property and Casualty insurance principles, insurance applications and agency-company interface preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, travel to all organization offices (including in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and South Dakota) and travel to vendor work sites required.
- Ability to work in an office environment with moderate noise level, remain in a stationary position and operate a computer a majority of the time required.
- Ability to move throughout the office to access work materials and to move work materials weighing up to ten pounds daily required.
