Summary/Objective

The Logistics Driver is responsible for transporting materials to and from the agency retail stores and donation centers in a safe and timely manner while projecting a positive image of Goodwill both within the agency and in the community. Under the guidance of the Logistics Coordinator, the Logistics Driver also works as directed to maintain warehouse organization, salvage processing and donation pickups within the community.

Essential Functions

· Load/unload agency or third party trucks using forklift and pallet jack.

· Execute timely and accurate deliveries to and from the retail stores, attended donation centers, warehouses, donor homes/businesses and any other assigned locations.

· Use Google Calendar daily to access scheduled home pickups.

· Use G-Mail daily to access manifests for truck runs.

· Utilize Truck Schedule for continuity while exhibiting the knowledge and flexibility to omit unnecessary travel.

· Maintain cleanliness of agency vehicles and other equipment, monitor fuel and fluid levels, document mileage as directed, obtain fuel as needed and provide all receipts to Logistics Coordinator weekly.

· Utilize good judgment and decision making while operating agency vehicles and otherwise representing the agency.

· Proper trash disposal, moving of product, proper labeling of gaylords, weighing of commodities, sorting and/or palletizing electronic waste, and proper storage of product in the warehouses.

· Always act safely, following all safety rules and regulations, and immediately report all safety and maintenance issues to the Logistics Coordinator.

· Use good interpersonal skills such as courtesy, sensitivity, politeness and thoughtfulness.

· Excellent time management skills to ensure daily tasks are accomplished and goals are met.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization in the warehouses, baling room and fenced yard of the facility.

· Follow all agency policies, all guidelines set out in the Employee Handbook and all legal directives from supervisor.

· Works closely with Logistics Coordinator to resolve transportation, warehouse or other Logistics issues.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Environment and Knowledge

· Work is frequently performed outside in the elements.

· Work requires ability to drive a box truck, as well as utilization of pallet jack, dolly, and other equipment required to move large merchandise.

· PC proficiency using Word and Excel; experience with Internet, email and scanning applications.

· Excellent communications skills.

· Ability to assess situations quickly and solve problems.

· Must not present a direct threat of safety and health to self, others or property.

· Able to perform the duties of the job description with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical Demand

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is an active and physical demanding role; requiring frequent moving of product, standing for long periods, and bending. The employee must have the ability to work consistently and constantly for duration of shift with limited supervision. The employee must have the ability to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills, lift up to 50 pounds, and bend and stand as necessary.

Qualifications

· Excellent oral communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

· Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record, negative DOT drug screen and ability to drive for work related activities.

· Strong interpersonal skills.
