What are the responsibilities and job description for the Placement Supervisor position at Goodwill Central Texas?

The Business Solutions Placement Supervisor will be responsible for leading and contributing to a team of Placement Specialists who successfully work with local employers to secure paid work opportunities, externships, and internships for GCT clients. In this role the Placement Supervisor is responsible for supervising the daily activities of the team, along with tracking all grant and metric outcomes to ensure grant performance for placements. Additional responsibilities will include working cross departmentally to further the mission of Goodwill Central Texas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Provide leadership to Business Solutions Placement staff to accomplish and / or exceed goals.
Works with Placements Specialists to identify job leads and negotiate job opportunities with employers for GCT clients, graduates of GCTC and Excel Center.
Hires, supervises, and guides all Business Solutions Placement Specialist.
Establish, collaborate, and maintain positive, professional working relationships with all levels of leadership within Business Development, Workforce Advancement, GCTA and all departments to ensure high qualities of services are provided.
The Business Solutions Placement Supervisor will ensure accurate assessment of client skills and job readiness allowing for optimum placements that meet the needs of both the client and employer.
Train and coach Business Solution Placement team members on how to effectively instruct and direct activities of the client related to employment applications, interviews.
Responsible for maintaining connections with community-based resources, human service agencies, and engagement in networking groups; making referrals as necessary.
Serve as a member of the Business Solutions Leadership team. Contribute to team meetings and organizational discussions in ways that impact results and informs effective decision making practices.
Participate in staff development courses designed to enhance professional and leadership skills.
Demonstrate ethics and comply with the Corporate Compliance Program.
Assist Business Solutions Placement Manager with several projects related to Goodwill Central Texas Mission.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

Work cross-departmentally to further the mission of Goodwill Central Texas

Know and implement agency policies.

Attend staff and other organization meetings as required by Workforce Advancement

Participate in staff development courses designed to enhance professional and leadership

skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :

This position has supervisory responsibilities over the Business Solutions Placement Specialists.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a related field and a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role plus at least two plus years of experience in a leader / supervisor role.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent time management.

Knowledge of Goodwill services and community resources including networking skills.

Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Proven track record of customer-first mentality.

Texas Driver’s License, liability insurance, vehicle in good working condition, clean driving record.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Bilingual preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

Ability to sit or stand for eight hours.

Ability to bend and twist.

Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).

Ability to work in a confined area.

Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone, keyboard, reach, stoop and kneel.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.

Light to moderate lifting is required.

Regular, predictable attendance is required as business demands dictate.
