Activity & Personal Care Aide
$750 Sign-On Bonus (Restrictions Apply)
Summary
Provide supervision of and assistance to participants in a GESMV Program. Maintain the participants’ safety, well-being, dignity and general overall involvement in day to day activities, as well as encourage and promote independent living skills. Assist with planning and implementing recreational, social and therapeutic activities, in accordance with the program mission.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Activity & Personal Care Aide will provide assistance with the following duties:
Assist staff in following through with programming for the participants and assessing program needs.
Providing appropriate self-help skills, as needed.
Transportation, bathroom and lunch transitions, as needed.
Maintenance of required charts/logs.
Providing appropriate social, recreational, and therapeutic activities for participants.
Scheduling transportation.
Maintaining a safe and secure physical environment for participants.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
High school diploma or a GED required.
STNA preferred but not required.
Experience working with physically, mentally, emotionally impaired and socially isolated adults and seniors preferred but not required.
Ability to interpret documents such as safety rules, general business instructions, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate effectively with participants, caregivers and the general public.
Ability to show care, warmth, patience, and nurturing to the target population.
Qualifications
Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check, physical, and random drug screens.
