Summary
Drives vehicle to transport donated materials from collection to processing, to point of sale.
Accepts merchandise donations according to procedure in manual.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Picks up donations of furniture, appliances and household goods at various locations.
Loads and sorts materials on trailer and straight trucks according to instructions.
Driving straight truck to various donation sites and able to unload in a safe and efficient manner.
Must be able to maintain a cheerful and pleasant disposition when serving customers.
Maintain records of donations, provides daily reports on trailer and straight truck condition.
Follow instruction on care of trailer and posting of signs as needed.
Ensure all proper agency specific logs and paperwork are completed legibly and submitted in a timely manner.
Maintains premises in compliance with agency safety and housekeeping practices.
Shows promptness and punctuality while making Goodwill Store deliveries according to delivery schedule.
Helps unload or load trucks at dock.
Maintains driving and truck records, including maintenance and mileage reports. Keeps truck equipped with first aid kit and fire extinguisher.
Maintains safety equipment and restraints according to policy; must be able to maintain high safety standards.
Operates equipment in a safe manner while identifying and correcting any outstanding safety concerns.
Adhere to local and state traffic regulations.
Comply with Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley rules and regulation.
Other duties as assigned.
Must be able to drive manual and automatic vehicles.
Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Helper, if assigned.
Must have a valid CDL License Class A and current Medical Examiner's Certificate. Driving record of the past 2 years must be insurable. (4 points or less).
Education Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Experience Requirements
Must have actual driving experience for at least 1-1/2 ton van type truck with acceptable driving record.
Able to maintain daily reports of mileage, fuel usage and similar trip documents.

Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
Employee must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider. If at any time the employee is unable to maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to GESMV’s liability insurance provider, they must immediately notify Human Resources.
Skills & Abilities
Able to load and unload trucks of merchandise including clothing, household goods, furniture and appliances.
Able to follow map to route efficiently.
