Summary
Provide leadership, organize and monitor the flow of goods being loaded and unloaded from the trucks. Provide training for dock personnel and close monitoring of safety procedures and policies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assists Retail Operations Manager in managing the flow of goods.
Train and supervise employees in procedures.
Complete reports accurately as assigned.
Unloads or loads trucks at dock.
Helps to load trucks on pick-up routes.
Sorts merchandise into containers for processing and distribution.
Maintains a clean and safe working area inside and outside of dock.
May be required to utilize CDL on occasion.
Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Dock Workers, Balers, and Truck Helpers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education Requirements
Minimum High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
CDL License Class A and current Medical Examiner's Certificate with an insurable driving record of the past 2 years (4 points or less) preferred.
Experience Requirements
Must have the ability to use a pallet jack, two-wheel dolly, and four wheeled carts.
Must be able to sort and pack merchandise for safe storage or transport.

Employee must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider. Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.

Able to load and unload trucks of merchandise including clothing, household goods, furniture and appliances.
