Summary The function of this position is to provide Peer Recovery Support to people experiencing mental illness and/or substance use disorders. Collaboration and communication with Montgomery County ADAMHS, Ohio MHAS, community behavioral health providers, and GESMV staff are essential in this position. Employees are expected to value the highest ethical standards, quality clinical care, and good customer service. We also value quality communication skills in a collaborative, multidisciplinary, and often multi-agency environment. Must be an Ohio Certified Peer Recovery Supporter. Essential Duties & Responsibilities  Responsibilities supervised by an appropriately licensed practitioner include: 1.  Informs clients of limits to confidentiality and rights regarding services delivered.2.  Provides peer recovery support services within a supervised scope of practice in collaboration with clients.3. May refer clients for emergency consultation and crisis assessment intervention.4. Maintains efficient and timely documentation of services within GESMV Behavioral Health guidelines.5.  Integrates services and/or makes referrals to appropriate professionals or outside agencies as indicated.6.  Participates in the assessment of program needs and peer review, as well as cooperates with performance improvement and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as defined.7.  Performs community outreach, information and referral, and education assignments, as well as consultation services as approved by the supervisor.8.  Complies with confidentiality and protected health information rules, including HIPAA.9.  Attends community meetings, GESMV staff meetings, in-services, case conferences, supervision sessions, etc., as scheduled.10. Complies with all Agency policies, procedures, and safety standards throughout work areas and maintains the same to meet CARF, Department of Labor, and other regulatory standards.11.  Performs other related duties as assigned, including support activities as needed to augment the functioning of the agency. Supervisory Responsibilities     None    Education Requirements  Must be certified as a Certified Peer Recovery Supporter. Must maintain up-to-date CPR and First Aid certifications. Experience Requirements Experience as a person with the lived experience of mental illness and/or substance use disorder. One year of experience providing Peer Recovery Support services is preferred. Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.  Skills & Abilities 1.    Excellent Peer Recovery Support skills2.    Must possess the ability to evaluate and advocate for the behavioral health needs of clients3.    Familiarity with and/or interest in furthering understanding of mental health related issues and recovery principles as well as the impact on the individual and surrounding community4.    Leadership and mentoring skills5.    Strong verbal and written communication skills6.    Excellent interpersonal skills7.    Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and ability to use an electronic health record (CareLogic)8.    Demonstrate initiative, as well as the ability to work cohesively within a team9.    Ability to show care, warmth, patience, and nurturing to the target10.    Displays good customer service skills with clients, internal colleagues, and our community at large11.    Ability to work within budget and funder guidelines12.    Ability to assist with publicity and outreach activities13.    Skill in collecting the necessary data for outcome reporting Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
