What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grants Intern position at Goodwill Industries - Big Bend, Inc.?
Essential Functions
- Under the direction of the Chief of Staff, the intern will be responsible for researching existing and potential grant applications, compiling necessary documentation, and supporting the application process.
- Tasks may include drafting proposals, coordinating with relevant departments, scheduling meetings, taking minutes, and ensuring timely submission of materials.
- Create a tracking report of grant submission and major donor solicitation deadlines, submissions and results.
- Source proposal requirements and submission deadlines.
- Internal Reporting - Daily Reports, Monthly Reports, and Development of reports
- Write, edit, proofread, and submit applications and budgets.
- Prepare and submit follow-up reports to the Chief of Staff.
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, produce accurate work and meet tight deadlines, with extraordinary attention to detail.
- Establish and maintain relationships with funders.
- Develop project descriptions and evaluation plans.
- Develop procedural methodology for securing major gifts through bequests, trusts, charitable gift annuities and other planned giving vehicles.
- Organize and maintain all hardcopy and electronic grant and solicitation archives.
- Manage major gifts received, prepare acknowledgements, and maintain accurate records.
- May organize and conduct seminars for prospective donors and professional financial advisors.
- Write periodic reports to comply with grant requirements.
- Monitor paperwork connected with grant-funded programs.
- Perform administrative duties (i.e., filing, recordkeeping, preparing correspondence, making telephone calls, conducting research, etc.)
- Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record;
- Participate in staff meetings and training, as required
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all matters concerning the organization
- Performs other duties as assigned.
